Jim Furyk’s maiden major win at the US Open has guaranteed the American a shot at the €1.4m first prize in the HSBC World Match Play at Wentworth in October.

Furyk joins world number one Tiger Woods, defending champion Ernie Els and US Masters winner Mike Weir in the field for the €3.3m event, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.
