Monty hopes slump is over

After his first sub-70 round in America this year Colin Montgomerie has praised the work of the two men he relies on most.

An opening one-under-par 69 in the United States Open at Olympia Fields near Chicago sent Montgomerie into today’s second round four behind leaders Tom Watson and Brett Quigley.
