Fine round puts Russell on recovery road

Scotland’s Raymond Russell, fed up of underachieving and given “a kick up the backside” by coach Bob Torrance, took a big step towards reviving his flagging career today.

Russell began the Daily Telegraph Damovo British Masters with a six under par 66 to be just one stroke behind 43-year-old Australian Peter Fowler in the race for the coveted prize.
