Jamaica’s Delroy Cambridge carded a fine 69 in treacherous conditions to claim a one-shot lead after the second round of the AIB Irish Seniors Open at Adare Manor in Co Limerick.

Cambridge goes into the final round on seven-under-par 137 and a single shot ahead of Australia’s Noel Ratcliffe, who carded a second successive 69 to be alone in second place on six-under-par 138.

America’s Bob Lendzion dropped a shot at the last but still returned a 68 for a four-under-par aggregate of 140. He will start out the final round in third place , one shot in front of defending champion Seiji Ebihara, of Japan, and Scotsmen Mike Miller and Martin Gray.

Cambridge, a winner of three Seniors Tour titles during 2002, came to the last tied with Ratcliffe but moved one ahead after hitting an eight iron to 10 feet and then holing the resultant putt.
