Poulter keeps title hopes alive

Defending champion Ian Poulter kept his hopes of a third Italian Open title in four years alive in the early stages of the second round this morning.

Poulter struggled to an opening two-over-par 74 at Gardagolf on Thursday, which included a triple-bogey seven on the 13th.
