Colin Montgomerie posted a blistering 65 to throw down the gauntlet to hometown favourite Ernie Els ahead of tomorrow’s final round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

The Scot made eight birdies and a bogey to card the best round of the day and then warned the world number three that he was hot on his trail.
