High winds have caused havoc with the first round of the European qualifying school stage two in Spain and France.

The first round at Peralada in north-east Spain has been abandoned due to the ferocious gusts while at St Cyprien on the French border, the morning’s play has still to start.

A decision on whether the first round will go ahead will be made at lunchtime.

The first round at Peralada will now commence on Friday with the same starting times.

At the PGA Golf de Catalunya, play started 25 minutes late due to early morning fog.
