An inspired Darren Clarke and Thomas Bjorn got the better of Tiger Woods and Paul Azinger as Europe swept into a 3-1 lunchtime lead in the Ryder Cup at The Belfry today.

After Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia had beaten Davis Love and David Duval 4&3 Clarke and Bjorn defeated Woods and Azinger when Bjorn made a brilliant 20-foot birdie putt on the final green.
