David Duval gave the American Ryder Cup team one of the biggest boosts they could hope for today.

The former Open champion, who has not won since Lytham last year and is only 93rd on the US Tour money list this season, produced a seven under par 65 in the second round of the American Express world championship at Mount Juliet.
