Bad back causes Seve to pull out

Seve Ballesteros made an early exit from the Omega European Masters because of a bad back.

While the second round of the in Switzerland was delayed for 80 minutes because of fog, Ballesteros announced his withdrawal after an opening day 75.

He only last week came back from a two-month lay-off which followed his disqualification from the Irish Open.

He has made only eight appearances this season and has made just one cut in Madeira.
