The Dubliner carded a second-round 67 to move to six under par along with Japan’s Shigeki Maruyama, South Africa’s Ernie Els, and American duo Bob Tway and Duffy Waldorf.

Des Smyth is among a group of three golfers tied for sixth place on five under, while Darren Clarke is on three under.

Tiger Woods is also still in contention on four under par.
