McGrane set to take winners cheque in Enniscorthy
Damian McGrane looked set for to take the winner's cheque on his own at Enniscorthy after the Riverside Park Hotel pro-am tournament but Damian Mooney walked in at the end of the day to match McGrane's super 66.
Wexford Club pro McGrane who also plays the European Challenge Tour carded seven birdies, holing putts of 20, 15 (three times) and 10 feet on the way.
His only stumble was a bogey at the 7th hole where he over over the back and failed to get up and down.
Mooney from Laganview Club outrside Belfast highlighted his card with an eagle at the long 11th hole.The big hitter reached the green with a drive and five wood before rolling in a six feet putt. He had three birdies on the way out and added two more on the back nine. His bogey was at the par four 2nd hole.
The winning team was a home combination of pro Martin Sludds, club captain Jim Delaney (14), club president Brian Kenny (10) and lady captain Liz Askins (18). They carded 92 points.
