Record breaking score at Philip Walton Pro-Am

A record breaking score has been achieved at the €35,000 Philip Walton Dundrum House Pro-Am.

A record breaking score has been achieved at the €35,000 Philip Walton Dundrum House Pro-Am.

The record-breaking score came on day one of the team category of the event, taking place at Dundrum House Golf & Leisure Club, Dundrum, Co Tipperary.

The best team score of 98 was shot by The Tony Lacey Team, made up of Donabate pro Cathal Barry, Tony Lacey, David Maher and Ronan Wade, all from Dundrum in Co Dublin.

Philip Walton, Martin Sludds, Neil Manchip & Brendan McGovern all finished at two under par, leaving them with a score of 70.

One shot behind are Finian Dwyer, Stephen Hamill, Eddie Doyle & Geoff Loughrey.

Meanwhile Eamonn Darcy participated in the opening day at the Dundrum House Pro Am, along with celebrities from outside the world of golf including Pat Shortt, Alan Quinlan, Charlie Swan and Mick Kinane.

In all, 46 teams are competing.

With a prize fund of 35,000 Euro, the third biggest prize fund on the Irish P.G.A. circuit, there is still a lot to play for in the final round.
