McGovern wins at Arklow after play-off
Headfort professional Brendan McGovern has won the MasterCard Irish PGA Southern Championship at Arklow but had to survive the drama of a five-holes play-off with Jimmy Heggarty before taking the title.
Both players finished the two rounds on 140 - McGovern closing with a three-over-par 71 and Heggarty carding his second 70 of the tournament.
It then took an extra five holes to decide the honours with McGovern clinching the title with a birdie three.
