Olander takes lead at French Open
Sweden’s Marten Olander has taken the lead at the French Open after carding a five-under-par opening round.
Olander equalled a European Tour record by carding eight consecutive birdies and nine in 10
holes, but he also recorded double-bogeys on the 11th and 12th holes to finish his round on five under.
The 30-year-old currently leads by two shots over a group including Jose Maria Olazabal.
Des Smyth is currently best of the Irish on one under after six holes.
