British Open purse increased

Tiger Woods will be £700,000 (€1,1m) richer if he can add another British Open title to his collection of major honours this summer.

A £100,000 increase - €161,000 - in the first prize was announced today as part of an overall 17.5% increase in the purse to £3.8m (€6.14m).
