Golf: Britain and Ireland lead 5-3 at Druid's Glen

Ireland and Britain have taken a 5-3 lead against Continental Europe after day one of the Seve Trophy in Druid’s Glen today.

The greensomes finished all square at 2-2, with Harrington/McGinley and Woosnam/Webster notching up victories for the home team.

In the foursomes, Clarke/Westwood beat Ceka/Bjorn 2&1, Montgomerie/Oldcorn beat Fasth and Karlsson 3&2, Casey/Webster went down by one hole to Olazabal/Jiminez and Harrington/McGinley beat Jacquelin/Levet by one hole.
