Golf: Els wins tour award

Ernie Els goes into the Masters having been named the European Tour’s Asprey and Garrard Golfer of the Month for March.

Els, having already won the Heineken Classic in Australia and Genuity Championship in America this year, made it three consecutive stroke play victories at the Dubai Desert Classic.

The award earns a £1,000 charity donation to the Golf Foundation in Britain.
