Golf: Bord Bia is new Ryder Cup sponsor

Bord Bia is to take the place of Aer Lingus as one of the main sponsors for the Ryder Cup 2006.

Aer Lingus was forced to withdraw because of the crisis at the airline.

The Minister for Sport Jim McDaid says he welcomes the decision of Bord Bia and says its involvement should help maximise the opportunity to promote Ireland to the world.

The Ryder Cup is considered one of golf's top events.
