Golf: Scwarzrock takes lead at Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Brent Schwarzrock has taken the lead on eight under par after the first round of the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in the US this morning.
Schwarzrock leads by two shots from Matt Gogel and Pat Perez, who both carded opening-round 66s in the PGA Tour event. Sweden’s Jesper Parnevik is tied for fourth place with Jerry Smith, Phil Tataurangi and John Rollins, who are all on five under par.
World number one Tiger Woods, struggling with a fever, carded a 70.
As usual, the tournament was hampered by weather problems, with the start of play delayed for 45 minutes due to freezing temperatures.
