Tiger Woods carded a final round eight-under-par 64 to overcome Fiji’s Vijay Singh and win the Williams World Challenge at Sherwood Country Club, Thousand Oaks.

Woods began the day four shots behind Singh but had 10 birdies, including five straight to start the back nine, and finished the event at 15-under 273.

Singh struggled to a 71 in the final round and ended up alone in second at 276.

No-one else was within five shots of Woods, who invited 17 of the best players from around the world to an event that supports the children’s foundation that bears his name.

Scott Hoch finished in third after shooting a final round 67 for a total of nine-under 279.

German Bernhard Langer and American Mark O’Meara shared fourth on 281.
