Golf: Torrance supports Ryder Cup cancellation

European Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance has come out in support of yesterday’s decision to postpone next week’s clash with the United States at the Belfry for 12 months.

The match, which would have been a highlight of the sporting year in Britain, was called off last night ion the wake of last Tuesday’s attacks on New York and Washington.
