Philip Walton, one of the seven Irish players who made the cut last night in

the stg£220,000 North West of Ireland Open at Slieve Russell has withdrawn

from the tournament.

Walton began the third round this morning at 2-under-par but bogeyed the

first three holes.

He parred the 4th but made a triple-bogey at the 5th before quitting the tournamant while playing the 6th hole.

No official reason for pulling out has been given.
