Heavy rain brought an early halt to play in the first round of the £1m Wales Open at Celtic Manor today.

Heavy rain brought an early halt to play in the first round of the £1m Wales Open at Celtic Manor today.

Only 30 minutes play was possible before play was suspended on the Wentwood Hills course.

Tournament officials announced that a decision on a possible resumption would be taken at 10am with the earliest possible restart at 10:45am.

The early starters managed to complete just one hole.
