Golf: John's Seniors performance definitely not bland

John Bland and Denis Durnien leaped into the lead after the first day’s play in the stg£501,000 British Seniors’ Open Championship at Royal County Down after both toured the Newcastle links in three-under-par 68.

Bland, three times runner-up in the tournament, got off to the perfect start with an eagle three at the first hole where he rolled in a 30 feet putt and with birdies at the 7th and 9th he turned four-under-par.
