Colin Montgomerie won the Irish Open for the third time with an 18 under par total of 266 finishing with a round of 66 which included eight birdies one bogey and a double bogey.
Montgomerie, the winner in 1896 and 1897, had not won a tournament in 56 weeks since taking the Volvo PGA championship last year.

Harrington and Clarke carded rounds of seven under par 64 - Harrington beginning with two birdies and he had five more on the back nine without dropping a shot.
Clarke made eight birdies but also included a bogey at the short seventh hole where he was bunkered.
Not such a good day for Paul McGinley who went to nine under with three birdies in the first four holes . He then slumped to two under par with a finishing 74.
Darcy was one shot worse off -75- to be three over for the tournament.
