Overnight leader Colin Montgomerie has picked up two further strokes in his opening five holes today, making birdies at the fourth and fifth to move to 12 under par.

He leads by three strokes from Adam Scott of Australia with Marc Farry from France and Denmark's Thomas Bjorn both on 8 under.

Massimo Scarpa from Italy had a hole-in-one at the 13th in his round of 67.
