Ireland's Padraig Harrington's hopes of clinching the Caltex Singapore Masters were ended this morning when he called a one-shot penalty on himself.

Ireland's Padraig Harrington's hopes of clinching the Caltex Singapore Masters were ended this morning when he called a one-shot penalty on himself.

The Dubliner was addressing his second shot to the 16th green when the ball moved a fraction of an inch.

He instantly turned away in disbelief knowing that he would receive the penalty shot.

Officials were called in to confirm what Harrington already feared and the 29-year-old was penalised and bogeyed the hole.

He finished in joint fifth on -17, four shots behind winner Vijay Singh, who beat him in a play-off last week in Malaysia.
