Golf: Uphill task awaits Clarke

There's been little joy for Darren Clarke on the opening day of the South African Open in East London after shooting a disastrous five-over-par 77.

The Ulsterman had risen to two under after seven holes, but dropped back to level par before coming unstuck on the par five third hole where he ran up a triple bogey eight. "It was just one of those things. I didn't play that badly but I just got punished for a couple of wayward shots," groaned Clarke.
