An opportunity to join greats of the game

What makes a superstar in pro sports? Is it their overall game or their ability to dominate a tournament or hit defining “clutch” shots to win championships or is it their will to win and refusal to lose?

In the world of professional golf, players are not defined by the number of titles they have. It is the number of major championships they win which separates them from the rest of their colleagues.

This week’s US Open leaderboard is already full of players who many journalists believe have already settled. They are happy with their status — that of being a talented and regular tournament winner, but if we are to compare them with multiple major winners like Mickelson and Woods, then to date in their careers they have not demonstrated the necessary urgency, the clinical ruthlessness they need to win majors and redefine their careers.
