Michael McDermott’s Open shot

Michael McDermott’s consistent season on the Irish PGA circuit in 2014 has earned him a debut appearance at this year’s Dubai Irish Open. 

The 34-year-old will join five other Irish region players who are eligible for the event – Brendan McGovern (Headfort), Damien Mooney (Ballyliffi), Neil O’Briain (Old Conna), John Kelly (St Margarets) and Cian McNamara (Monkstown) at Royal Co Down (May 28-May 31).

“I suppose it’s a reward for last year’s efforts,” said Dublin native McDermott.
