Michael McGeady maintained his run of consistency yesterday to sweep into the final qualifying school of the European Tour and to move closer to a full Tour card.

The 36-year-old Dongal man, who turned professional nine years ago, was keeping his head while his fellow Irishmen were faltering at the final hurdle.

McGeady, who helped Ireland win the Raymond Trophy as Home International champions in 2003, produced a solid display at El Saler to card a closing 70 for a 72-hole total of 285 and a share of 12th place.
