Speedy Hogan wins again in America

Irishman Rob Hogan defended his title at the Eastern American Speedgolf Open on Saturday at the Foundry Golf Club in Richmond, Virginia.

Hogan, who plays out of Cregmore Park Golf Club in Galway, shot a Speedgolf score of 118, taking 79 shots in just 39 minutes.

Hogan, current world champion and Speedgolf world No 1 said: “It is an honour to be invited back here to this great tournament and to defend my title is a dream that has been gathering momentum since last October in Oregon when the 2013 season finished up.

“I really want to thank Fred Tattersall, Jon Hottinger and all the guys involved in the running of this great event.”

Hogan banks €5,882 and returns to Cregmore Park today where he runs the Hogan Golf Academy.
