World number one Adam Scott may be the current golfing kingpin but the Australian is not quite master of all he surveys and certainly not when it comes to the US Open.

The 33-year-old has a Masters victory under his belt and the green jacket on his back, he has a second place and a tie for third in his last two Open Championship appearance and the US PGA Championship has seen him finish 11th and fifth in 2012 and 2013.

Yet as Scott prepares to get his 13th US Open under way today, the best his record shows in the second major of the year is a tie for 15th at Olympic Club in 2012.
