He’s never been a fan of the course and has never played well in the tournament at Crans-sur-Sierre but then Pádraig Harrington warmed up for the Omega European Masters shooting a 66 in yesterday’s Pro-Am.

It is the first time in 13 years that Harrington will compete in Switzerland and the Dubliner is present really out of necessity, given the now 42-year-old failed to qualify for the lucrative PGA Fed-Ex Cup series.

In his last journey into the Alps, Harrington missed the cut and prior to 2000 he posted results of 30th (1998), 63rd (1997) and 18th on his debut in 1996.
