Lowry’s Special link with Leinster

Golf star Shane Lowry was yesterday unveiled as an ambassador for Special Olympics Leinster.

The Offaly man, who won the Portugal Masters on Sunday, will help promote a series of events aimed at promoting the abilities of the 1,962 athletes who participate in the Special Olympics programme in the province.

Regional Director Special Olympics Leinster, Annette Codd, said: “We are extremely proud that Shane has become an ambassador for the Leinster region. He is a true sporting hero to us all but in particular our athletes, who through Shane’s success can see that hard work and commitment certainly pay off. I would like to congratulate him on his fantastic win at the Portugal Masters and wish him continued success in the years ahead”.
