Strong Irish team for Turkey

The Irish Ladies Golf Union is sending a strong international side to compete in the Women’s World Amateur Team Championships at the Gloria Golf Resort in Antalya, Turkey, (September 27-30).

British Amateur Champion Stephanie Meadow, last year’s British Strokeplay Champion Leona Maguire and Paula Grant will play for the Espirito Santo Trophy. Monkstown’s Ada O’Sullivan, inset, will captain the side.

The Championship will be played on the old and new courses at the Gloria Golf Club and Ireland bid to improve on their 11th place finish in Buenos Aires two years ago. That marked Ireland’s best solo finish in the event having helped GB&I achieve two silver and five bronze medals when the Home Countries fielded a combined team.
