United States captain Davis Love III cannot wait for the action to start after completing his line-up for this month’s Ryder Cup.

Love used his captain’s picks to add veterans Steve Stricker and Jim Furyk and in-form pair Brandt Snedeker and Dustin Johnson to the eight playersautomatically qualified to face Europe at Medinah, Chicago.

Love, a veteran of six Ryder Cups, had an enviable choice of players but finalised his decision overnight, leaving out the likes of Hunter Mahan, Rickie Fowler, Bo Van Pelt and Nick Watney. The 48-year-old said: “I can’t tell you how excited I am that these four guys are going to round out our Ryder Cup team.
