Harrington in line to take ‘evil’ call from Olazabal

It is a telephone call that has been described as “evil” and it could be Pádraig Harrington on the receiving end later this week.

European Ryder Cup captain Jose Maria Olazabal will have to make a number of those calls to advise some of Europe’s most prominent players they will not be getting a Medinah ‘wild card’ pick.

If Harrington is on Olazabal’s hit list then it will end a run of six straight European appearances since the Dubliner made his debut in 1999 at Brookline.
