Lee Valley Scratch Cup

The Lee Valley Scratch Cup tees off this weekend.

It has become one of the most significant events in Ireland’s amateur golf schedule, not least because of the quality of the Christy O’Connor Junior designed layout near Ovens.

Past winners include Shane Lowry, international Rory Leonard and the defending champion, Lee Valley’s Keith Crowley.

There is a high quality field again this year including six members of the Irish international panel, Gary Hurley (West Waterford), Jack Hume (Rathsallagh), Aaron Kearney (Castleknock), Richard O’ Donovan (Lucan), Ian O’Rourke (Cork) and Harry Diamond (Belvoir Park).

The event begins on Saturday with a 7.30am shotgun start and the second round tees off at 1pm.

The top 30 and ties will qualify for the final round on Sunday.
