G-Mac: I beat myself up too much this year

FOR a second week in succession an Irish-born Major champion has shut the book on an uneventful season and is already looking forward to starting a fresh chapter in the New Year.

Just seven days after Padraig Harrington described his season as ‘a year not to remember’ and Graeme McDowell admitted he was far too hard on himself this past year, and ‘wanting too badly’ to duplicate his glorious 2010.

McDowell walked from the Earth Course in Dubai last Sunday firstly kissing girlfriend, Kristin and then shaking hands with officials and friends, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, but also eager to return home to Orlando and spend six weeks away from golf.
