Europeans take early 1-0 lead

FIRST blood went to Europe’s Solheim Cup hopefuls yesterday when they took to Twitter to laugh at America’s expense.

Europeans take early 1-0 lead

The Europeans had a good giggle when they passed the broken down US team bus en route from Dublin Airport to Killeen Castle.

Captain Alison Nicholas and her players will hope the breakdown is a sign of things to come and that the wheels fall off the bus for red hot favourites America in County Meath this weekend.

“On our way to hotel and the American bus has pulled over to the side of the road, broken, hilarious,” tweeted European ace and world number two Suzann Pettersen.

“Brilliant,” replied Sophie Gustafson, the 2010 Ladies Irish Open champion who also plays at Killeen Castle this week.

Even legendary BBC commentator Peter Allis got in on the act when he tweeted: “The US Solheim Cup team’s bus broke down? Really? In Ireland? Well how wonderful.”
