Judge & Jury

THE ACCUSED: Caddy Steve Williams.

Judge & Jury

THE RAP: Losing the run of himself after new client Adam Scott won the Bridgestone Invitational.

THE CASE: In a pop at former gaffer Tiger Woods, Williams hailed “the most satisfying win of my career” and boasted of how he “backed myself as a front-runner and I have won again”.

DEFENCE: A guilty plea? “Looking back on it, I was a bit over the top. I had a lot of anger in me about what happened and it all came out.”

CHARACTER WITNESS: David Feherty says “If you’re the best of anything, you have to have an ego. I don’t think he needed to apologise”.

THE PROSECUTION: Caddies should take the blame not the spotlight. When Dave Renwick wore a “Tiger Who” hat in the President’s Cup, it ultimately didn’t help his boss Vijay Singh’s cause.

VERDICT: Guilty as sin.
