Searing heat and thunder to accompany Tiger’s Major push

GOLFERS arriving at Atlanta Athletic Club yesterday for this week’s PGA Championship were greeted with heat in the American south reaching three-digits on the heat index.

The Georgia air promises to be hot and humid throughout the tournament, which starts on Thursday when Martin Kaymer defends the title he won at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin 12 months ago.

Temperatures in Atlanta were in the mid-90s Fahrenheit, with the atmosphere making that feel over 100 degrees.
