RICHARD O’DONOVAN produced the best final round of the Irish contingent in the European Amateur Individual Championship in Sweden.

O’Donovan enjoys big finish

A two-under-par 70, built with the help of two birdies in the last three holes, helped the Lucan man finish with a 72-hole three-under-par aggregate of 285.

The championship was won by Austrian Manuel Trappel, who beat English champion Steven Brown in a three-hole play-off after both had finished the regulation 72 holes with 10-under-par totals of 278.
