Fota’s Leahy delighted by return of the pros

The resort’s marketing director helped launch the Audi Cork Irish Masters event on the PGA EuroPro Tour, a third-tier professional circuit that operates as a proving ground for rising professional golfing talent, primarily from Ireland and Britain and which served as the springboard for European Tour winners Ross Fisher, Simon Dyson, Richard Finch, Graeme Storm and even reigning Open champion Louis Oosthuizen.

Fota’s par-73, 7,632-yard Belvelly Course will stage the new three-round strokeplay tournament from July 6-8 on a course that comprises the original back nine and the newer nine holes of the 27-hole championship complex.
