No Holywood ending, but home club predicts major sequel

RORY McILROY’S home club, Holywood, believes intense pressure on young shoulders led to his Augusta Masters collapse — but he will win a major some day.

The Down club was packed on Sunday night hoping to watch their most famous player win the Green Jacket and become the first Irishman to win the Masters.

“When the boys came out so hot they put a lot of pressure on him and when he got up on the first tee it wasn’t a four-shot lead anymore,” said club professional Stephen Crooks.
