Having played himself into contention at the halfway stage -seven under par and within six shots of the lead — Harrington collapsed over the final 36 holes, plummeting to a share of 63rd.

A closing 78 on Sunday included a double bogey seven at the 18th (his 9th) where he drove into the Pacific Ocean, and an 8 at the second.
