Rules revision for Pádraig

GIVEN the desert wasteland nature of this week’s Bahrain course, the European Tour issued a special rules notice to all Volvo Champions event competitors declaring – “There is no bunkers on this course”.

That would have delighted Dustin Johnson if he was competing in the oil rich nation. But the ruling certainly had Pádraig Harrington second guessing in his first competitive event since being disqualified from last week’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

The Tour highlighted in the rules notice the difficulty in making ajudgement on what is a waste area and what is a bunker.
