Pavin has high regard for Monty’s choices

MORE than a little predictably, US Ryder Cup Corey Pavin was last night loud in his praise of counterpart Colin Montgomerie’s three choices as vice captains at Celtic Manor in October.

“There are a lot of choices that Colin had, and I think that the three that he picked were very good,” he observed at Carnoustie, where he is preparing for the British Seniors Open starting there tomorrow.

“Obviously, he has his reasons to pick who he did, and you know, from outside looking in, which is what I’m doing, I think they are very good selections.”
